I wish I could catch daylight in a jar, so it would wake me up on the cold and dark Icelandic winter mornings. I'm having some trouble getting up these days, and I even missed a class this morning. The radio was on for a whole hour but I still couldn't reach over and turn on my bedside lamp. :( This must be addressed and fixed soon.
I ran into the most uplifting poem on the vast interwebs last night, on the blog of Jane Brocket, yarnstorm(visit, even if you don't like poetry because her photos are rays of sunshine on a dreary day). It goes like this:
I wanted to do my work today
I wanted to do my work today -
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree.
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.
And the wind went sighing over the land
Tossing the grasses to and fro.
And a rainbow held out its shining hand -
So what else could I do but laugh and go?
Richard Le Gallienne (1866 - 1947)

It seems to stir up my favourite feelings - freedom, independance, wanting to go out and run around in a forest with my camera. Sometimes I just want to throw away all resposibility, just for a little while, so I can go outside and enjoy life.
Right now, I am feeling an immense desire to bake cupcakes with frosting. That is what I will do!
